Why is she so good at taking pictures? I want to go back to the beach πŸ˜ͺ

Got up early this morning to whip Mozart 4 out. It's been over a year since I've played it but it feels really amazing to come back to a piece with more knowledge and better technique than I had when I last played it. Wish I could stay in here all day with this happy Mozart. Time for work though!πŸ˜Šβ˜•οΈπŸ’•

One of the kids at the CSUF Violin Camp this past week said that our practice rooms seem like solitary confinement and that we need to be in straight jackets. Is she wrong though? πŸ”ŠLalo, Symphonie Espangole, Rondo

Sight-read through Vivaldi Double Concerto in D Minor yesterday with this guy! Thanks for the parts, @samanthavuong .. πŸ’•

It's considered practice, right?

Practicing while she's cooking isn't so effective. Not that I was practicing hard anyway πŸ˜… "WHERE'S THE MUSTARD?!"

This is exactly half of the original tempo and it's still pretty tough. Yikes. πŸ”ŠLalo Symphonie Espangole, Rondo

I did some research last night and discovered how important Lalo's Symphonie Espangole really is to the violin repetoire. After meeting Sarasate, Lalo was inspired to write in the style of his Spanish ancestors and dedicated his Symphonie Espangole to Pablo de Sarasate. Then, soon after the premier, Tchaikovsky's colleague sent him the score she had attained from Lalo for Tchaikovsky to study. He was so pleased and inspired by the piece that he immediately wrote his own violin concerto within a month. So basically without Lalo there wouldn't be a Tchaik in our rep. Thanks, man πŸ’• πŸ”ŠLalo, Symphonie Espangole in D Minor, Rondo

This piece is definitely the most difficult thing I've laid hands on. ITS JUST ONE BIG FINGER TWISTER. I need to work on isolating the more 'dangerous' shifts and slow it down entirely. Please pardon my super (ugly) concentration face! πŸ”ŠLalo, Symphonie Espangole op 21

I got to hear this incredible Goddess perform tonight with Pacific Symphony!!! Her playing has always been an inspiration to me. I realized tonight that you don't need fast notes and blairing technique to show off virtuosity. In fact, playing with elegance and beauty is much more difficult. This refined playing is definitely what we should strive for. Thank you Anne Akiko Meyers.
Also, thanks for joining me @dayteme. πŸ’•
