Chef? Check out my new book!
One of the best guys you will ever meet, my brother from another mother - had a blast with my buddy Shawn down in Miami for the Oneida summit - he's my podcast partner and the founder of @entrepreneurialchef - Shawn is doing great things in the industry and it's been an honor and a pleasure to have had him in my corner these last couple of years - I look forward to many more!
Thanks again @oneidafoodservice for putting on one hell of a show!
This photo is of my dad back in the 70s, playing hoops for #UVA... Truth be told, I was born with basketball in my blood and from the earliest I can remember I'd shoot fade away and crazy reverse jumpers as the clock winded down in my backyard... And then, I'd shoot foul shots, forcing myself to make 10 in a row before going inside, barely able to see the rim at times.
Often dinner would be waiting for me inside, cold, as I imagined wearing that UVA jersey just like my dad - #30... I guess I could have played somewhere small, like a 16 seed in the Big dance, but it just wasn't really in the cards for me... Nevertheless, my dad taught me a lot about drive, competition and respect... In this picture UVA is playing #VATECH - ironically, Alabama (my Alma Mater) is playing them in the tournament today.. Oh, and UVA is a #1 seed... Life is good.
Gonna be a fun couple of weeks! #ROLLTIDE#bama#gocavs#bigdance #tbt#rolemodel#buckleup#hustle#grind#goals#dreams#success
Ten and a half years ago my sister gave me a birthday present - two tickets to @stephen_kellogg - I didn't know who he was, but she knows my taste, so I was pumped. I took my good buddy @jocogo813 and the concert was one of my favorite shows of all time - I fell in love with his music instantly - you could tell he was present and thoughtful and as he states is 'utterly compelled' to share his music with the world. The funny thing is, he later told me that to him that show was the worst of his career - everything went wrong, much of which was beyond their control. That says a lot about a person - the willingness to show up and put all of one's self out there - not knowing whether or not it's going to work out or not. Sometimes you don't think it's working out, but in reality you have no idea how you cpuld be impacting someone with a completely different set of eyes and experiences - that's what happened to me that night.
In a world full of fake ass people who are constantly chasing the shiny new thing and the easy win, Stephen Kellogg is a rare breed - an old soul with a genuine heart and he shares the way he sees the world through his music in a really special way.
If I could ask you to do one thing right now, it would be to go follow this dude. If I could ask for one more thing - go check out his tunes - his heart runs through the lyrics of every verse.
Stephen, thanks for the last decade of music - it has moved and touched me in very real and human ways. I look forward to many more and your friendship along the way.
See ya later, See ya Soon Partna'.
P.S. PODCAST INTERVIEW WITH @STEPHENKELLOGG IN BIO!
Be good to people... Why? Because you can and it just so happens to feel better....
What a game last night... Still can't believe it - absolutely incredible. Even if you're not a football fan, Saban's understanding of what it takes to create success transcends football, sports and athletics - it applies to anything in your life... It turns out that our commitment to excellence determines what we're able to accomplish. This is a good thing, because that means it's up to us... It's a bad thing, because it's really fricking hard.
