Four years ago local Lubbock yogis launched #yogaintheplaza and this year we celebrate the fifth consecutive year of this popular community event! 🧘🏻‍♀️ Join me this Saturday from 9-10 at @buddyhollycenter plaza for a Gentle Hatha flow! Maybe we’ll get lucky with an overcast morning with a cool breeze like this one but be sure to bring water and sunscreen. 🌞

One of the greatest joys of my life has been my sisterhood, my tribes.
Born without biological sisters, I look back over my life and am amazed to see I have always, ALWAYS had soul sisters. 🌿

Every single one of the women I’ve been blessed to call friend has been fiercely independent and individual with a heart that I know I can’t get to the bottom of when it comes to compassion. 🌿

They are beautiful and strong and somehow we know the importance of gathering with each other. 🌿

One of those amazing women is my soul sister @byitsowndesign. We’ve been collaborating since the New Year on this unique, sweet offering of a yearlong program for you! 🌿

My idea of a care package.
Mostly my love languages don’t express primarily as gift giving or acts of service.
I tend more toward quality time and touch.
But I do find that when I want to really, deeply nurture somebody while simultaneously giving my soul some expression ... I cook.
With the highest quality, freshest ingredients possible.
Someone I care about a lot is healing from major back surgery.
I’m hoping these gifts of love bring healing and joy.

This line from an ancient yogic text has been my mantra and my motto for over a year and a half since stumbling across it in my certification as an @irestmeditation teacher. It refers not to the literal forgetting of everything we know about the world and ourselves, but to that all we think we know must fall away if we wish to enter a moment with heartfelt presence. That means whether I am meeting myself, another, or the world, I have a choice - to do so from the expectations, judgments and analysis of what I think I know, or to fall into a sensing mode with body and heart that is fresh, alive, open and responsive. One further divides the world, the other unites us. Here’s to forgetting everything that we might sit in our hearts. Happy Valentine’s Day my friends, from my dusty West Texas trails to yours.
