We are about to start roasting two beautiful nanolots by @claytonbarrossa this week - one honey, one natural. We are super excited to feature them side by side for you. Ninho D‘Aguia is a fantastic farm and a showcase of where Brazil is heading in terms of coffee quality. Clayton becomes more and more of a personal friend - we are proud that he is sharing his top coffees with us!
Julian Palomino and his wife Maria Teresa grow coffee on their 4 hectares farm, El Progreso, with fantastic climate conditions. We chose this coffee for its clean flavours of candied lemon, indulgent butter toffee and vibrant acidity. It has an elegant mouthfeel and lingering finish. #thebarnberlin

Milk is one of those things that people ask us about quite often. Since the start we have been working with biodynamic, non-homogenized milk. Luckily we have a producer located in a biosphere just outside of Berlin: Brodowin. We find that this milk is the best we can get and it is naturally sweet. Brodowin integrates very well with our coffees and does not overcast their subtle flavours.
Generally, we find that our coffees taste best when enjoyed purely black. To us it is one of the most tasty vegan product there is. However we have been looking for a non-diary solution for those who crave a rich and creamy coffee experience. Something that would not be overly sweet or too flavoursome so you can taste natural coffee flavours from the fields. Oatly barista edition is going to be on our menu permanently.

Since we started back in 2010 we have always set aside a little time to share what we have learned. These days we have The Lab, it is an amazing space but we wanted to keep some time for our community in a more informal setting. So we decided to go back to The Barn Café at Augustrasse, where every Wednesday 11.00 – 12.00 we are setting aside an hour a week to share our newest coffee with you.
