Hey y’all!! My name is Maya Fitterer and I’m a senior at Hershey high school. I’ve been swimming for 11 years now and enjoy photography in my spare time🤪 This Is My Brave is important to me because I personally know how much story telling can impact you and inspire others. Story telling saves lives.
So true! We need to stop making assumptions on how people are doing based off of their online presence or how happy they may seem on the outside. You never know what someone is going through. Thank you @decade2doodles. 💙 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Repost@decade2doodles ・・・⠀ What you (don’t) know.

"Mental illness and addiction are not going anywhere, even if some people pretend they don’t exist. When we talk openly about mental health, we start the conversation and help to end the stigma."⠀ ⠀ Melissa Nolan shared her brave on our Houston stage back in April. 🎤Watch the full performance in the link in our bio.
Today, we remember our co-founder, Anne Marie Ames. @jenn.thisismybrave shares her memories of the woman who helped make This Is My Brave what it is today: "Two years ago I lost my co-Founder. My partner in all things #Brave. I miss her more than words could ever express. I wish I could show her how the seed we planted together in 2013 has grown bigger than we ever imagined. I wish she was here to hear from all the people who have been impacted by @thisismybrave. I miss planning and dreaming together, her telling me I’m too ambitious and me pushing further because I know we could do it. I still vividly remember looking over at her, holding her hand, saying “We did it,” both of us beaming at our inaugural cast of Brave storytellers behind us on stage at our first show on May 18, 2014 as the audience gave us a standing ovation. A moment I hold in my heart and will always treasure. Our time together was too short, but full of laughs, some tears, and tons of intention. We built @thisismybrave to change the world, one story at a time. Anne Marie gave us this gift and I intend to keep it going despite the pain of losing her. Thank you for the beautiful memories, Anne Marie. I love you. ❤️"
