The frame after “Hydra” which is available on my site. Sometimes it’s hard to choose the best frame from a sequence in wave photography, with images like this falling on the cutting floor never to be seen in the light. But I thought I’d give this runner up a little run. 🤗
Beauty within a world of chaos.. neither would exist without the other. I’m fascinated by the balance of things.. how would we recognise beauty without being witnesses to the ugliness of chaos. How can we know how to do good without first being opposed by evil, and how can we know love, without first being a victim of hate. All things serve a purpose, so I trust that God is greater in every season, in every trial and in every way, and in doing so become a recipient of the peace that overrules logic. 🤗 I took this photo at the edge of the world..
It rare cases, you can find pearls inside of clams in the ocean.. although despite the value and beauty we place on pearls because of their rarity, I find just as much beauty in the creature that created it. After all true beauty is found in the creator, not the created, for it must first exist in the heart, before it can be held in the hand. Illuminated Clam Coral 💙
Having a camera in a beautiful place is a two sided coin, there’s always this sense of ‘put the camera down’ and just enjoy the experience, like the ghost cat in Walter Mitty, and there is most certainly a time and place for that, but on the other hand, having pictures like this one here of my mate WK @warrenkeelan swimming toward the light through a bazillion little silver fish, has the ability to transport me right back to the moment, and refreshes my memory of how special it actually was. It’s a delicate balance, I don’t want all my memories to be framed by a viewfinder, yet being able to relive the moment and even share it with others is a considerable motive to keep a camera close.. this day @davesandford@warrenkeelan and myself enjoyed a balance, freediving camera-less and capturing the moments as we saw them. Like many things in life, achieving a balance is the goal. Swipe to see an alternate angle that our new friend @kellymacmedia got of this creative process..
