Photo by @amivitale. A herd of elephants cross a river at @loisaba_conservancy in #Laikipia, northern #Kenya. More than 800 #elephants spend significant time at @loisaba_conservancy and @nature_africa is working with partners to conserve this important #elephant migratory pathway. Elephants are excellent swimmers and if faced with a strong current, they will use their trunk as a snorkel and then march right across rivers 12 feet deep. Long ago people thought that ancestral elephants may have come out of the seas. A popular myth was that their trunk evolved as a sort of snorkel in more aquatic settings. Follow @amivitale for more stories where conservation efforts are making a positive change.

Video by @joeriis / Sage grouse strut in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. In the spirit of #EarthDay, turn up the volume and let their voices be heard!

Shot on assignment for the National Geographic Society Beyond Yellowstone program. Using a science-based approach, the program supports wildlife-compatible landscapes. It seeks to address the challenges of species recovery and migration across public and private lands while respecting the needs of local landowners and communities.

If you want to see mule deer and mountain lions from this same sage steppe landscape, see my latest post @joeriis

“When it comes to ethical fashion, people have this image of hemp and unfashionable fabrics in their mind,” says 17-year-old ethical fashion blogger Tolmeia Gregory (@tollydollyposh). The British-born, Italy-based teen is clear this needs to change. “There’s so much more to it than that. It just means caring about your clothes and where they come from.” “We’re a lot more aware these days of where our food is coming from. We care about it because we eat it every day. Why do we not care about our clothes, because we wear them every day? We all wear clothes. We all have an impact. Not everyone can make different choices about fashion straight away, but just being aware is an important step. Ethical fashion can be fashionable. It can be stylish. Eventually, I’d love to have my own sustainable label — thinking about people wearing my designs is exciting to me.” We’re celebrating #EarthDay with Tolmeia Gregory. Head to our story now to see more.

“Spring is coming. That means we get beautiful [tulips] again in the Netherlands,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Albert Dros. “It’s a joy to see and photograph them every year. This shot was taken during a sunset combined with a storm, creating a nice dramatic red color palette.”

“This is so lovely — just endless tulips as far as the eye can see… AND a beautiful sunset! I agree with Your Shot photographer Cathy Pepin-Toussaint who commented, “Wow, what a gorgeous shot, Albert. It’s like each tulip has captured the colors of the sunset and is reflecting them back to us.” — @natgeoyourshot Producer David Y. Lee (@davidylee)

One of the things I love about living in Japan and some of the places I visit is the preservation of traditional buildings in a modern city, because the preservation of these buildings reflect the vibe of old Tokyo or in this case Milan. It’s not always the case in every part of the city so if I could participate in the construction of my own neighborhood, I would restore these building and reuse the space w/ the combination of old and modern designs. #MINILiving #BuiltByAll #SaloneDelMobile18 @mini.living #Advertisement

With @natalyosmann. #followmeto Singapore Infinity pool with the inflatable duck. This was one of the initial crazy ones we took. It was around 7 a.m and we were trying to blow up this duck around people that decided to come and sunbath and enjoy the view. ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
Also this was a time when I jumped in a pool with a phone with all the photos we took in Bali and as I you can understand it died and Nataly almost killed me as she recorded some of here interviews on it. Back then our account was really small and we were doing our photos just for fun for about a year. Didn’t realise that it is going to grow into such a community. Thank you guys for all the support that you given us over the years. ❝¿¿Do we have here anyone who followed us from the beginning??❞:)
