I think this capture is appropriate for my 100th post! Piercing Eyes. Nothing can send a chill down your spine better than a lion staring you down at dusk, after a kill. As if they are looking into your soul. This powerful feeling never gets old. I was fortunate enough to be working with @bbcearth filming this pride for #planetearth2 a few years back in Zambia, when I was working for ALERT at the time. What an incredible experience.

Serenity. Bliss. Peace. Nothing more to say.

Tree of Life. Well, at least I like to think that of this particular tree. It looks like it’s half dying, but is it? Where there is death, there is life.

This photo you may think of Scar, but his name is Zulu - the pride male I had the pleasure of studying in Zambia. Being in the presence of such an intense and charismatic individual definitely humbles you, and being able to get to know an individual for a year is even more of a privilege.

The majestic Yosemite Falls. Amazing what nature can do and no matter the lighting, you can never do it justice and replicate it when you were there yourself. That’s why we must #getoutside as much as we can to relish in the magnificent beauty what nature has to offer. We take advantage of everything too much, and we need to learn to appreciate again.

Throwing it back to when my friend and I did an impromptu sunset photo shoot! Sometimes things that aren’t planned, are the best plan. #tbt

The lazy gaze of a Zambian pride male. Possibly questioning whether to follow the pride, or maybe go after that impala - or even the unimpressed thought of his rambunctious cubs. We often think male lions as lazy, but they do protect their pride from other prides and bachelors looking to take over. They are also highly successful in hunting when the time comes to it. Don’t judge a book by its cover - they aren’t all just good looks 😆🦁

Sunrise @manyoniprivategamereserve - just stunning with the mist lying in the valleys. The view never gets old and makes getting up at o’ dark thirty worth it.

This female is amazing. She is the alpha of the small pack @manyoniprivategamereserve and has endured so much hardship but came out on top with healthy puppies. I couldn’t be happier! @africanwilddog #savethepainteddog

Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. #tbt to visiting one of these national landmarks a few years back. Lighting has everything to do with these natural formations, either at sunrise or sunset. Here, sunset with a little haze provided a neutral lighting so the details are still shown. The Colorado River carved this natural wonder, which then leads to the Grand Canyon. Amazing what nature can do.

An African Roadblock. This bull @manyoniprivategamereserve insisted on coming down the same road we were driving. We were looking for cheetah, but found him instead. I would he was a good alternative.

Little did I know last year when I last visited Monterey that I would be coming back for a month to assist in researching and tagging great white sharks. When life smacks you an opportunity like this, you have to jump for it! Stay tuned 🦈🤙
