Doors open 7.30pm, sign up for a slot 7.30-8pm, readings begin at 8pm.

There are twenty 5 minute slots available on the door (5 slots for each of our four rounds), on a first come first serve basis. TRANSMISSIONS IS FIGHTING FOR THE SOCIAL JUSTICE OF TRANSGENDER, NON-BINARY, INTERESEX+
7:30pm at VFD.

Every Monday ANYONE IS WELCOME TO COME, including cisgender allies (as we love and need you in our corner). These meet ups will be relatively casual, each week with a new host and organisation that we deem deeply inspiring. We will also have self-defence classes and advice sessions from medical professionals.
There will be alcohol available, but this isn't one of our late night dance parties (although it is likely we will end up dancing). It's a safe space for us to celebrate each other, cry about our struggles, fight for justice, love, embrace and evolve together.
If you have any disabilities or requirements then please let us know how we can help make our sessions more accessible and fulfilling.
Also, we understand that social anxiety is common in our community. If you don't want to come alone, then get in touch as there are plenty of welcoming people who'd be happy to meet you beforehand.
COME JOIN THE FAMILY, LET'S MAKE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL.

It's Monday music night tonight with Afro Cuban Music Night- Dance Class and Fund Raiser. Come and dance your Monday blues away with this free event, however we will be collecting money for a fellow drummer and friend Patrick Cameron who recently lost most of his possessions in a house fire. Patrick did not have house insurance so as a community we'd like to try and raise some money to help him help out a bit. We hope to see you all there.
The Afro Cuban Music Night is an evening of drum, song and dance from batá and orisha music to rumba. It is an informal gathering where musicians, music lovers, dancers and those who would like to learn to dance can participate. PLEASE NOTE this is not an audience/performance type event, all those who attend are encouraged to take part in some small or large way depending on their experience of the traditions –this could include anything from hand clapping, singing choruses, dancing, drumming or leading the songs.

Dance Class 20:30 pm
We begin with an oricha or rumba dance class. We are very privileged to have Maestra Luanda Pau leading the dance class who is a renowned dancer who worked with the Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba. Cost £7

Open Batá and Rumba Session: 21:30 -11.30 FREE!
Percussionist and singers familiar with these traditions are invited to come and play. We begin by playing for the orichas with batá music followed by a rumba. We have been honoured to be joined by some of the legends from the batá and rumba Cuban traditions including Gerardo De Armas, Martica Gallaraga, Yosvani Diaz and former Conjuncto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba member Antonio Urdaneta Castro. We are very grateful to the many UK based percussionists who also support this night and make it possible.
IMPORTANT: Please drink up
We have worked hard to try and keep this event free (obviously apart from the dance class). This is only possible if people consume drinks at the bar, so please support the event by buying drinks of some kind; they don’t have to be alcoholic
