Good night everyone.
The West Ham ladies put seven goals past Portsmouth ladies today. They are quite a team.
Holy Mother of Pearl! #KaizerChiefs fans destroying the Moses Mabhida Stadium makes the pitch invasion at the London Stadium look like playground games. They're even beating the living crap out of a woman security guard. The world has gone mad.
The 4-1 defeat against Arsenal meant that West Ham are right back in the relegation scrap. We're only 6 points clear of the bottom three, so it's still mathematically possible for us to be relegated. Next up is Manchester City at home.
Even the very best players make mistakes every now and then. As long as you learn from it, that's all that matters. Besides you're not the only one who made a mistake today.
Marko Arnautovic: "There is big disappointment for us, of course – and we have to keep going for the season – but we could have drawn this game, and in the end there were mistakes. We know we should clear the second goal. I think every player makes a mistake though, and Declan [Rice] is still young and we have to come back from this. And we must talk about this game in training and manage it together. We can take many positives from the game until 80 minutes but then it was disappointing.” #westham#hammers#irons#coyi#whu#whufc#westhamunited
West Ham boss David Moyes backs Joe Hart for World Cup spot after England keeper's Arsenal 'heroics':
"Joe made two brilliant saves, well done to him for maybe a difficult week for him. I think Joe’s saves against Chelsea and those saves today were terrific. I think it’s whether England decide they need a really experienced keeper. I worked with Jordan Pickford who I think is really, really good so I think it’s whether you think in some of these games you need someone who’s more experienced, I think Joe gives you that." #westham#hammers#irons#coyi#whu#whufc#westhamunited
David Moyes post match comments: “I thought we did a really good job; we contained them for long periods, we played well enough at times, we just didn’t start the second half well enough and they came back into it. But look; we have had some good performances today, and today was a good performance for 80 minutes. Unfortunately, we probably just had too many attacking players on the pitch and it ruined our balance of making sure we did a defensive job well." #westham#hammers#irons#coyi#whu#whufc#westhamunited
I think it's a bit unfair to say that I don't get behind the team when I have done my entire life. I'm a paying 'customer' so I'm entitled to have an opinion. To let in 3 goals in the space of 10 minutes is woeful. In fact it was shambolic. The starting line-up was completely wrong and we only started making substitutions when we were a goal down. Where's the urgency? It was a real mess out there. This match was just frustrating to watch, simply because we could have been a goal or two up before half-time. Arnautovic had no one there with him, he was completely isolated. Today was the 8th game under David Moyes that we have conceded 3 or more goals. We really need to sort this team out in the summer. Everyone is to blame for this season. The owners, manager and players. Moyes is doing all he can to keep us up and I respect that, but his tactical decisions really do question me at times. #westham#hammers#irons#coyi#whu#whufc#westhamunited
David Moyes on Declan Rice: "Up until 81 minutes we looked worthy of a point. Had moments in the first half, but a young player makes a poor mistake for the second goal. He’s got big potential but it really flattened the team. The last thing you do is let the ball go. To be fair we had done most things really well defensively. He has to show it won’t happen again and he will have to step up." #westham#hammers#irons#coyi#whu#whufc#westhamunited
David Moyes has been a great appointment should we stay up, but I'm honestly questioning his future at West Ham United. I'm not sure whether he's going to be the one to take us to the next level. The players need to take some responsibility too, we're relying on teams below us to drop points just so that we can remain in the Premier League next season. This is a season to forget to be honest.
