What an amazing night... Our big fundraiser of the year was a resounding success! After weeks of organising, planning, crafting, designing, and promoting, our incredible team made magic happen last night -from transforming the space into a beautiful restaurant and cabaret club, serving a vegan five course meal, and then entertaining everyone with such good humor, enthusiasm and generosity, it was a pleasure to behold. And not forgetting our mammoth raffle at the end - all our raffle elves who spent weeks selling raffle tickets and gathering prizes. Phew! GoTeamWSS!! And a big thank you to @commongroundbray for providing such a great space, as always. #selfdirectedlearning#democraticschool#wicklowsudburyschool#thisisireland
We'd like to remind you of our PUBLIC MEETING taking place this evening, Tuesday, 13th November, at 7.30pm at Avila House, Bromley, Kilpedder, Co. Wicklow. These introductory meetings are an excellent opportunity to learn more about our school in particular, and self-directed learning & democratic schooling in general with plenty of space given to discussions and Q&A's. Some of our staff members and current students/parents will be present. No booking required. All ages welcome!
Simon Bauke, and 18-year old artist, pianist and composer who has just graduated from Democratic School De Ruimte in Soest, The Netherlands is visiting us for ten days. Simon is doing a tour around Europe, starting at WSS, and at the end of his ten days with us, he would like to perform a concert of his own music for the families and friends of Wicklow Sudbury School, and so we invite you to join us for this, at 6pm this coming Thursday, 25th October. This event is free, but Simon will be selling CDs of his music which is how he is funding his tour, so it would be great to support him in this. You can hear examples of his music on his website here: www.simonbauke.com and you can follow his journey here https://www.facebook.com/simonbaukepiano/
