The Blind Sparrow’s got a friendly local vibe and some πŸ‘Œ cocktails on the menu. This colourful specimen is called Port in a Storm: Canadian whiskey, fresh citrus, egg whites, ruby port float.

When it comes to authentic Korean food, they tell me South Castle in North Vancouver is 졜고! I just know it's damn delicious. Bring a fire extinguisher. πŸ”₯

Summer is finally here, and that means late evening cocktails! Everyone knows L'Abattoir cocktails are the cockiest. And for good reason. Great spot for drinks even if you're not staying for dinner.

When we moved to Vancouver with only two cats and barely $700 in the bank, takeout from the West End's Olympia plus a movie rental (VHS!) was a major Friday night luxury. Those were great times, but life and food moves on. Well, after nearly 16 years we decided to check it out again, for nostalgia's sake. Their pizza is… even better than I remember. Yay comfort food!

Fresh garden herbs and ripe flavourful tomatoes is the key to an acceptable omelette experience. Also simmered mushrooms and red onions with quality cheeses and lots of butter and olive oil helps. (Note: avocados have jumped the breakfast shark long ago) πŸ§€πŸ„πŸ³πŸ₯šπŸ…

Finally made it out to Marutama Gaiden on Main today for their AKA MARU! The verdict? Good, but my favourite is still their Bidwell location off Robson.
