The pinks and reds of minutes ago soon gave way to hues of fire orange as the sky exploded over Lake Wanaka and the lingering lenticular cloud formations slowly dispersed overhead.

Watching the Milky-Way centre rise from Skippers Road Lookout on South Island - New Zealand.

This epic viewpoint is only 4km before the Coronet Peak Ski Area, it offers quality views over Arrowtown, Lake Hayes and Lower Shotover. Definitely a nice place to Stargaze if the opportunity is there.

For this image I took two exposures, one lighting the path with a headlamp and the other a normal 25 Sec exposure. Big thanks to @stuckinnintendo for keeping still during the balancing act on the sun-dial & in Baltic conditions ❄️.. _________________________________

Easter Eggs.

Hard to really tell on Instagram but these Moeraki Boulder shots look stunning in full resolution either on canvas or as a normal print.. Even if I do say so myself 😄. DM me for more information if you'd like to purchase one.
You can also check my older posts for variations.

Candid shot of Lempuyang Temple 30 minutes before sunset. A woman makes a call on her phone whilst admiring the majestic view. Thick cloud layers roll by covering Volcano Agung 🌋 in the background, the sun's light trying it's hardest to break through the clouds on another hot and humid day even at this altitude.

This place has now become one of the more popular haunts for the Instagram brigade in Bali. There's been many images shared, beware of the fake composites that picture an oversized Volcano seemingly no DOF can produce and or ones with Milky-Way cores masked in. Contrived scenarios are questionable, candid shots seperate fact from fiction.

Sunset from Gili T island - Lombok Indonesia. The west part of the island can serve up some magnificent colours as the sun sets behind Volcano Agung 🌋 in the distance. These horses are usually found here most evenings taking people for rides or posing for snaps.

Waipapa Lighthouse did not disappoint, being the only one here too made it that much more special. You really get a sense of "far away" here, truly end of the world stuff. Prints available in Landscape, msg me for more details.

Great response to the voting with 61% of you in favour of seeing more Astro shots. The next 3 will be dedicated to Astro.
This is a shot at Lake Tekapo featuring the infamous Church of The Good Sheppard. Nowadays it's always busy here with stargazing tourists but with the right timing & patience these type of results are possible.
To get the foreground pin sharp and low on noise I exposed for around 200 seconds with something like 200 ISO. The stars always no more than 25 seconds otherwise trails become apparent especially at 14mm.

A Standard nights #Vanlife here in New Zealand down on the South Isle. 🌠

The moon was fast due to rise and you can see how light it's getting as the moonlight pierces behind mountains out of shot. I'd woken up around 4:30am to brave the cold and check my Time-Lapse that I'd left running for two hours. It turned out pretty good, had to take a cheeky shot of the surroundings too and whilst the Milkway was horizontal. The great thing about the Toyota Estima van, although this version is a mid-90s can you get a huge electric glass roof on this model, just perfect for star gazing in the comfort of your bed.
