Commissioned by Works & Process and created by American Ballet Theatre (ABT) principal Daniil Simkin (@daniil), "Falls the Shadow" is a new production made in and for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (@guggenheim) rotunda premiering September 4 and 5. "Falls the Shadow" features Simkin, ABT soloist Cassandra Trenary (@cassiepearlt), Hubbard Street dancer Ana Lopez (@ana_chu), and Brett Conway; choreography by Alejandro Cerrudo (@cerrudoalejandro); projections by Dmitrij Simkin; interactive media by Arístides Job García Hernández, and costumes by @dior. The performers' movements will be captured in real time by motion sensors, generating 3-D mapped visuals projected onto the surface of the rotunda to create an immersive experience that merges technology, music, visual art, fashion, and dance.
