Dreamy cloudscape one day. ☁️
Dramatic glitter bursts the next. ✨
If you want to know how Ruthie Barone (@ruthiebarone) is feeling on any given day, take a look at her eyes. Since 2015, the Brooklyn-based makeup artist has been using her eyelids as her canvas, allowing her emotions to guide the paintbrush. “Creating art on my eyes allows me to express myself and work through my emotions. I just go by my gut and whatever I feel,” Ruthie says.
Like emotions, makeup is temporary and can change in the blink of an eye. Ruthie finds freedom in that. “I can wipe off a whole look in an instant or destroy it with a few drops of foundation,” she says. “It feels free and fluid.”

Photo by @simoncroberts | Ramlet al-Baida public beach at sunset, Beirut, Lebanon, January 2016. Ramlet Al-Baida (“white sands” in Arabic) is Beirut’s last remaining public beach, a rare outlet in a city where public spaces are few and far between. Unfortunately, a lack of sufficient public regulation has allowed developers to chip away at such spaces over the years. Lebanon’s shrinking coastline dates back to the country’s 1975-1990 civil war, when developers took advantage of the absence of state to build a flurry of resorts along the shore. Today many locals are worried that a gradual encroachment of private developments into the Al-Baida public beach will continue. For people who simply want to visit the seaside and relax, the privatization of beaches has become another symbol of corruption and inequality. “An early morning at the infamous Maroon Bells in Colorado,” writes #YourShotPhotographer Molly McCormick. “This is one of my favorite spots, it never gets old. It was pretty chilly this morning but patience and a lot of warm layers (and coffee) paid off. The reflection is one of the most beautiful things to witness.”

One of the most enjoyable things I’ve done in the last few years was go storm chasing. I went before the 2017 solar eclipse and we drove around the Great Plains looking for tornados. This wasn’t even the best time of year to go storm chasing, but we still managed to see a few storm cells, and of course got to see the eclipse.
Since then, it is something I recommend to everyone. There really is very little risk, even though that is the first thing which comes to mind for everyone. There is lost of boredom driving around, and then a great deal of excitement and activity.
It is something I very much wish to do again in the future. In fact, it is something I could see myself doing on an annual basis it is so much fun.
