Share it with your friends ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘† Uhhh guilty!! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Most of us spend majority of our days slouched at our desk, hunched over the steering wheel of our car, or leaning over our phones.
ใ€ฐ๏ธ
Here are some poses that can help counter the slouch & improve posture (yay!)
ใ€ฐ๏ธ
๐Ÿฆ…EAGLE ARMS: My favorite shoulder stretch! Cross your arms the best you can. Lift the elbows up to align with your shoulders and keep your hands reaching away from your face for an extra stretch.
ใ€ฐ๏ธ
๐Ÿ‘๐ŸผCLASP HANDS BEHIND BACK: This simple pose opens the shoulders and chest. Remember to squeeze your shoulders onto your back and keep the neck long.
ใ€ฐ๏ธ
๐Ÿฑ๐ŸฎSEATED CAT & COW POSE: An office-appropriate version of this pose that can easily be done at your desk. Move slowly & breathe in each pose.
ใ€ฐ๏ธ
๐ŸฎCOW FACE ARMS: Why do they call it that? I donโ€™t know ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ But this is one hell of a shoulder stretch. Most people are better at one side or the other and itโ€™s totally okay if your hands donโ€™t touch.
ใ€ฐ๏ธ
Next time youโ€™re at your desk for too long, try these poses for a great stretch ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Source @maryochsner

Behind every impressive yoga pose is someone who put in the hard work to get there. What's your "impossible" goal pose? What's actually standing in the way of accomplishing it?

@janiceliouย ๐Ÿ™ knows how to push past the impossible:
It always feels impossible until it feels possible. But it is always possible.
So keep trying...try again, fail again...fail better.

Learn how the poses are supposed to feel, not how they're supposed to look. Often, simply bending one or both knees transforms your experience in a pose from awkward or painful to deep and liberating! What modification transformed your practice?ย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Read on for @adellbridges tips!
These are three examples of where you may be able to lengthen, strengthen, and open much more effectively just by bending your knees .
. ๐Ÿถ In downward dog, open the shoulders more by bending your knees . ๐ŸŒœ In crescent lunge, lengthen your spine and stretch the hip flexors (as opposed to sinking into the lower back) by bending your knees . โ›ต๏ธ In boat, strengthen the lower abdominals by keeping the spine from rounding, made easier by bending in the knees .
.
You can always work to straighten them later! .
.
Bent knees also help work towards strong alignment in chaturanga, side plank, revolved side angle, and sooo many more! .
.
These are things Iโ€™ve learned from my teachers. And I continue to learn how best to share these tips with you all, whether on here or in my workshops or retreats. I love getting your feedback to know Iโ€™m communicating my tips well, so thank you all who have given me feedback! It means so much ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ .

Did you begin yoga to achieve a specific pose? Or did you find the poses to be byproducts of something else? Whatever your goal, remember that it takes time. Keep showing up, trusting your body and trusting the process!
Thanks for sharing, @samgachyogaย ๐Ÿ˜Š

I couldnโ€™t do the splits when I started yoga. I also didnโ€™t ever do yoga because I wanted to do the splits. But I fell in love with practicing yoga and over time I became more flexible. Until one day not only could I do the splits, but I could do it across two chairs with one foot on each, like some weird alien.
Yoga also made my stronger and changed the way I think and move and breathe. But thatโ€™s a story for another time. โค๏ธ Upload your best yoga photos ๐Ÿ‘‰ yogaposesguide.com (link in bio) Most beautiful photos will be featured here ๐Ÿ˜

How do you make inversions less intimidating? Use a wall! Great to build body awareness and strength. Balance will follow naturally. What other poses have you learned by using the wall? Thanks for sharing, @roxanne_yoga!ย โค๏ธ
Here are a few tips for those who are learning to get into Pinchamayurasana, or Forearm balance, against the wall; starting closer to the wall makes everything a lot easier. Just keep thinking of reaching the tailbone to the sky, and keep pushing the forearms (shoulder-width apart) into the ground to lift.
