Olaoluwa Abagun is a lawyer & unapologetic gender equality advocate from Lagos, Nigeria.
Olaoluwa is the Founder of Girl Pride Circle Initiative, a registered NGO in Nigeria which advocates for girls’ rights and empowers girls to transform their communities. In 3 years, Girl Pride Circle has reached over 1500 Nigerian adolescent girls, educating them about leadership, gender equality, and sexual violence. Girl Pride Circle has also mobilized key stakeholders in Alimosho (the largest local government area in Lagos) to adopt an unprecedented action plan for the prevention of sexual violence against adolescent girls.
Olaoluwa Abagun has been recognized as a Women Deliver Young Leader – an outstanding advocate for the rights of women/girls. She has advocated across strategic global platforms including the 61st Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women 2017 and on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. She is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society and was recently named a Future Policy Leader by the British Council.
